Reliable CO₂ Refrigeration for Tropical Freight Storage

Context & Challenge

Located in Sainte-Marie, Réunion, this freight airport handles temperature-sensitive goods that require precise and reliable refrigeration 24/7. The customer needed a sustainable and energy-efficient CO₂-based system capable of operating effectively under tropical heat and fluctuating ambient conditions.

The main challenge was to deliver a solution that would:

The Friga-Bohn Solution

To meet these requirements, Friga-Bohn provided a CO₂LD Transline central refrigeration system delivering 110 kW of cooling capacity, paired with a GC NEOSTAR gas cooler rated at 160 kW. Together, these form a robust, high-efficiency CO₂ transcritical system engineered for long-term reliability.

To complete the installation, Friga-Bohn supplied a set of GTI, NTA, and 3CA evaporators, ensuring optimal temperature control across different storage zones. This combination provided flexibility, balanced airflow, and energy-efficient operation, even in demanding tropical environments.
